Just in Case with the Healing Hugs Stamp Set

It's Just in Case Thursday - the day where Patsy Waggoner (my Border Buddy) and I share a card we've CASED (copy and selectively edit) from one of our current publications. Today's card uses the Healing Hugs Stamp Set from page 80 of the catalogue.

Just in Case Healing Hugs

I based my card on a sample featured on page 95 of the Annual Catalogue using the Country Home Stamp Set.

Just in Case

I changed up the colours and stamps for my CASE.

  • Gorgeous Grape - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
  • Whisper White - 5 1/2" x 4"; 5 1/4" x 4 1/4"; 3 1/4" x 2"
  • Granny Apple Green - 4 1/4" x 1"

Just in Case Healing Hugs

  1. Fold Gorgeous Grape cardstock in half to form card front.
  2. Ink the flower image in Highland Heather and stamp on the upper and lower area of the Whisper White (5 1/2" x 4").
  3. Ink the leaves image in Granny Apple Green and stamp beside the flowers.
  4. Pop up the stamped piece in the middle of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. Add Wink of Stella to the flower petals.
  6. Emboss the Granny Apple Green strip with Subtle 3D folder and glue across the card front.
  7. Use glue dots to add a piece of ribbon across the bottom of the Granny Apple Green strip.
  8. Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White (3 1/4" x 2") in Gorgeous Grape ink.
  9. Cut out sentiment with the Stitched Nested die and pop up on the card as shown.
  10. Tie a bow in Linen Thread and glue dot to the left side of the sentiment.

  11. Stamp the flower image in Highland Heather ink and the leaves in Granny Apple Green on the lower right corner of the Whisper White (5 1/4" x 4") and glue on the inside of the card.

The Healing Hugs is a Distinktive stamp set. The stamps made with the process are photographs of actual items (flowers and leaves in the case of this set) and allow the stamped images to have dimension. While there isn't anything tricky about stamping the images I have some tips for getting a perfect image.

  • You want an ink pad that isn't saturated with ink. If it is the details of the stamp will not show. If your ink is too juicy take the back of a plastic spoon and run it over the surface of the pad several times (be careful not to cut the foam). This pushes the excess ink back into the pad leaving the surface with less ink.

  • Before using the stamp you can condition it by inking it in Versamark ink and stamping off. Clean the stamp and you are ready to go. This is only necessary the FIRST time you use the stamp.
