Canada Inks Up! Meeting

Hello Stampers,

100_7632-2 The best thing about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is all the fabulous men and women I've met who share my passion for paper crafts.  Yesterday I had my downline meeting - usually I don't have a summer meeting but I couldn't wait to share what we'd learned at Convention.  We we few in numbers but we made up for it in enthusiasm.  I think getting 15 of you out in August is a pretty good turnout - especially on a cold and wet day.

Here's the first batch of eager beavers who arrived before me!

I always forget to bring my camera to these events and even though I did bring it I forgot to take a picture of a project shared by Angie Blinkhorn - Angie send me a picture of your fabulous cake and I'll post it to my blog.

We have the walls full of displays and both Kim Lee and Jessica Blissett brought samples from 100_7633-1 Convention and fron an online swap so we had tons of ideas to steal (I mean borrow) for our own customers.

Here are the make n' takes I prepared for everyone.

This is card #1 and uses the Upsy Daisy stamp set (on sale for 15% right now) along with the Bella Rose designer papers and some of the new ribbons.

Everyone cut the scallop circle with the Big Shot machine and the Scallop die.  The inner circle is cut using the Colluzle cutting system (so easy!).

I inked up the flowers in Pink Pirouette and then used a dauber to add some Pretty in Pink and Kiwi Kiss.

I used the paper piercer to add some detail above and below the Birthday sentiment.

Card #2 uses the Flight of the Butterfly set.  I used Bashful Blue and Riding Hood Red ink and cardstock.  The ribbon is the new Riding Hood Red taffeta and I popped up the butterfly image with a pop dot for dimension.  We also added Dazzling Diamond glitter to the wings.

100_7664-1 The last card uses the Ronald McDonald Stamp set , Say It with Scallops, and the matching square Scallop punch.  Stampin' Up! donates $100,000 per year to Ronald McDonald House charities along with a $2 donation from each of the sold designed Ronald McDonald stamp set featured in each catalogue - so while you are enjoying the stamp set you can also be proud of supporting such a worthwhile charity.   I wanted a simple card and used the sample from page 125 in the catalogue as inspiration.  The scallop is stamped in Rose Red ink and punched out and then popped up with a dimensional on top of the new Rose Red grosgrain ribbon.  I love these 3 x 3 cards (Farah does too!) because they are fast to make and don't require a long message inside...what can you say in a small card - Dear Farah, Happy Birthday, Love Alison - what else IS there to say? LOL

Happy Stamping!
