Sorry it's been a while since I've been on my blog - I had 4 workshops in one week and that was above my usual classes and clubs. It's been a busy time but it's been so nice to meet so many new stampers - thanks to my hostesses Barb, Sandra, Sonya and Michelle!
I just love the new Occasions Mini (sales period March 1 - May 31) and of course I went nuts during the preview period - demonstrators can order items from Mini catalogues before the general public which is another great reason to sign up with Stampin' Up! I'm having an Opportunity Night on Tuesday, March 11th at 7:00 pm if you'd like to learn more about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstator - the Starter Kit is on for 20% off the regular price until March 17th. If you don't live in Vancouver please email me for a free information package - I support downline all across Canada. My newest recruit lives in Saskatchewan!
Okay...on to stamping...One of my favourite new stamp sets from the Occasions Mini is Bloomin' Beautiful - so pretty. If you are a regular customer of mine you should have received the Mini in the mail last week.

Stamp Sets - Bloomin' Beautiful
Cardstock - Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac, River Rock, Cardstock Vellum
Ink - Basic Black, Markers - Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Mellow Moss, Bashful Blue, So Saffron
Other - Hodgepodge Hardware (silver), Mat Pack, Empressor, Designer Label Punch, White Gel Pen
First I stamped the image in Basic Black on Cardstock weight Vellum. Turn it over and colour the images with Stampin' Write Markers. Turn the image over to the right side and add some highlights with the Signo White Gel Pen (thanks for the tip Liane).
Turn it over to the wrong side again and place the vellum on top of the soft mat included with the Mat Pack. Take the Empressor and gently but firmly rub over the image so that it pops up on the right side. I call this technique "Blind Embossing" but I'm sure there is another name for it. As you colour you will see the image turn a white colour so you know you've gone over that piece of the image. I only "popped" out the flowers and left the vase flat (thanks again to Liane for that suggestion).
I also stamped the little bee from the same set onto a scrap piece of vellum and coloured it from the back side with markers.
Okay...now the best part...the Designer Label Punch is a perfect fit for the new Hodgepodge Hardware from the Occasion Mini - so cool! I love this new hardware because it has tons of brads and some of the frames are embellished - perfect for Boho West images.
